Responsibility for craft professional and hourly recruiting and hiring.

  • Build and maintain relationships with third party providers
  • Conduct and/or schedule interviews, task tests and road tests.
  • Draft and send offer letters
  • Conduct initial phone screening and profile/resume reviews
  • Maintain and manage applicant records and workflow in applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Assist as needed with the campus recruitment process
  • Assist as needed with experienced hire recruiting.

Manage employee lifecycle

  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Enter new/terminating employee data into internal systems and forward when appropriate to payroll.
  • Maintain employee files and records in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Maintain and complete separations notices and related documentation for terminations and transfers
  • Conduct employee exit interviews
  • Create job descriptions

Provide employee relations support

  • Implement and administer personnel policies, procedures and practices to employees.
  • Provide basic policy interpretation for employees escalating to the HR Manager when appropriate
  • Assist with the investigation and documentation of employee complaints or issues in partnership and at the direction of the HR manager.

Assist with compensation planning and performance management

  • Provide employees with guidance regarding the performance review process including timelines, employee development planning and conducting the review conversation.
  • Assist with decision related to staff planning needs and promotions

Assist with the organization and execution of HR functions

  • Logistics and location planning for career fairs, campus recruiting, Take our Kids to Work Day, open houses, HR meetings, interviews, etc.
  • Administer programs such as Red Wing Boots, Hardhat stickers, drug and alcohol testing program, leave programs and return to work documentation.
  • Audits and codes regional HR invoices and expenses before submitting to AP.
  • Maintains all posters and notifications in accordance with state and federal regulation. 

Reporting and Compliance          

  • EEO Administration, filing of Federal/State reporting – EEO-1, VETS-4212 etc.
  • Maintain HRIS system records and provide and prepare HR reporting and analysis for the region.




  • 2-5 years’ experience working in Human Resources.
  • Experience working in the Construction Industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong Customer Service experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, with shifting priorities
  • HRIS administration skills required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Highly motivated, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities as provided.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is required
